The Summer 2014 finished its four days show at Javits Center and Pier 94. Buyers, merchandisers, reporters and forecasters swirled the show looking for items to sell, learn how to merchandise a new line, report on interesting items, and see that the colors and trends that were forecasted has been followed by the designers.
Marble and marble-like patterning, row wood to create handle on tee-cups, rope patterning in rug design, past traces of vintage pattern, needle point decoration on stools, furry animal heads for toy with yarns are all present.
Metallic was everywhere, the newest is brass and copper, an alternative to gold and silver, horse- hair as decorative touch, steak knives with pearl handles.
Colors become softer. Core colors are evident especially in tabletop market. Linen in natural colors, skin-tone, soft gray, whitened pinks shown up in highly textured pattern.
